i'll tumblr for you...

my name is vashtie. i make stuff. nice to meet you.

angebabyyy asked: hi, i've been following your blog for a while now. i'm currently trying to figure out what i want to do with my life (or at least the next few years) and i guess i'm wondering what has motivated you to pursue your dreams? weren't/are you afraid of failure or not succeeding/being successful and how do you overcome failure when (and if) it occurs?

Thanks for the support. I’m not sure what motivated me, or at least I’m not that conscious of it. There were no choices for me. I just had an idea at 11 years old of what I wanted to do and where I wanted to be…that was to be an artist living in New York City.

It’s hard when you don’t know what you want to do, but I think that’s fine. You’ll figure it out and maybe when you do, you’ll change your mind…maybe once, twice, or more. It happens all the time, so don’t fret my pet.

If you’re trying to figure out what to do…I believe in making careers out of the things you truly love doing, that way you’ll be happy when you’re not making money or succeeding. If you love baking, then sell your goods. If you like partying then be a promoter.

Everyone is afraid of failure, but the best things I’ve ever made came from not thinking about failure. That way, your work will be true and speak for itself.

In the event that I fail (and it happens), I take a good look at why it failed and I learn from it then move on.

Hope that all helps :) You’ll figure it out…

xo, vashtie.
